ABOUT MADMAHESHWAR
The temple at an altitude of 3289m is located on the slope of a ridge 29 kms northeast of Guptkashi. The trek starts from Uniana. The temple here contains a superb Har-Gouri statue. The trek further takes one to Ransi, which has a very old temple, low and built of stones entirely. Gaundar at the confluence of Madmaheshwar Ganga & Markanda Ganga is the Madmaheshwar temple and its associated dharamshala.
The entire trek from Uniana to Madmaheshwar is distinguished by wild unparallel scenic beauty in the full view of Chaukhamba, Kedarnath and Neelkantha peaks all along the route. Monal Pheasant and Kasturi Deer abound in the area.

Best Time to Visit:
- The best time to go on the Madmaheshwar Trek is from May to October when the weather is pleasant.
- The temple is closed during the winter months (November to March) due to heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures.
Difficulty Level:
- The Madmaheshwar Trek is considered moderate in difficulty.
- The trekking route involves some steep ascents, and trekkers should be reasonably fit for the journey.
- It is suitable for beginners with a good level of fitness and for experienced trekkers.
How to Reach
Rail: The nearest major railway halt is Rishikesh Railway Station. It is located about 140 kilometers away. The place is linked by rail with all the significant towns and cities of India.
Air: Jolly grant Airport is the closest one, at a distance of 110 kilometers.
Road: Rudraprayag has an excellent bus service to Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri etc.

Arrive Rishikesh and check into the Hotel or Tourist Rest house Rishikesh . Dinner and overnight in TRH Muni-Ki-Reti, Rishikesh.
Drive to Mansuma 230 kms with hot lunch en route. Dinner & overnight in Mansuna.
Trekking from Uniana to Ransi, some 3 km away. There is a lovely view of waterfalls and forests as it rises to Gondhar. Less then 1 km later, another bridge spans the Saraswati River just as it merges into the Madhyamaheshwar stream.
From Bantoli, the path continues north-west as it rises steadily past Khatara (1 km) to Nanu (2 km). The path exits from the forest as it is rounds the mountain to emerge at the Madhyamaheshwar (3,000m) meadow. Night stay at Madhyamaheshwar.
Just one hour natural and spiritual trek.
Trekking to Bantoli.
And to Uniana. Return to Ukhimath.
210 kms drive to Haridwar. Lunch en route. On arrival transfer to the station time to catch train for Delhi.
